AHDB board and minutes

The AHDB Board consists of ten members: the Chairs for each of the six sector organisations, and four independent members, one of whom is the Chair. Their appointments are for a period of up to four years from 1 April 2008.

John Bridge was appointed as Chair Designate in October 2006 and the majority of the rest of the board appointed in February 2007 to implement the process of levy board reform and take forward a review of the needs of the industry known as the Fresh Start review. Up until the vesting day for the new body on 1 April 2008, the board operated on a shadow basis.

Appointment details

Selection and appointment of the members of the board is carried out under the rules of the Office for the Commissioner for Public Appointments (OCPA).

Remuneration

The board members are paid £300 per day with a commitment of up to 16 days per annum (under review) for the independents and initially up to 172 days per annum for the sector company chairs. The Chair is paid £500 per day with a commitment of 3 days per week. Board members are also able to claim reasonable travel expenses.
